OVC professor Dr. Pavneesh Madan brings virtual reality and gamification to the anatomy lab to help student veterinarians learn about dog and cow anatomy. The innovative approach is believed to be the first use of virtual reality for teaching anatomy at a Canadian veterinary college.

In addition to fundamental courses in principles of disease and clinical medicine during their first three years of study, DVM students at the University of Guelph’s Ontario Veterinary College focus on developing the technical and clinical skills they need to accompany this knowledge.

Clinical skills models come in all shapes and sizes, literally. Many in use in the Ontario Veterinary College’s clinical skills labs were developed in-house by instructors to meet their students’ particular needs.

The University of Guelph will introduce a first-of-its-kind Bachelor of One Health (BOH) degree program in fall 2022.
