Dr. Melanie Barham, OVC DVM 2007, shares career-building tips for new veterinarians

An accomplished researcher, educator and administrator in the field of veterinary medicine will present the 2022 Schofield Memorial Lecture.

The first of its kind in Canada, Bench to Bedside will enhance collaborations between U of G scientists conducting benchtop translational research and veterinary clinician-scientists caring for companion animals to improve therapeutics and treatments for conditions that naturally occur in both humans and animals.

A program to help protect farmers’ mental health is one of two University of Guelph innovations to receive the U of G’s Innovation of the Year Award or 2022. 

2022 marks one hundred years since the Ontario Veterinary College’s relocation from downtown Toronto to its current home in Guelph. Eighteen graduates completed their studies during OVC’s last year in its original home in 1922. A century later, the Class of 2022 graduated as the 100th class from the college’s Guelph location and began their professional lives in practice, research, or further education.
