A portable DNA sequencing kit, smaller than a phone, helped bring next generation technologies to a university in Brazil to support research and learning in the field of veterinary microbiology. 

Communication touches every aspect of veterinary medicine from client to team interactions. Just as technical skills are honed by repeated practice, continual refinement of clinical communication skills is a critical component in building the student veterinarian’s skill set.

OVC professor Dr. Pavneesh Madan brings virtual reality and gamification to the anatomy lab to help student veterinarians learn about dog and cow anatomy. The innovative approach is believed to be the first use of virtual reality for teaching anatomy at a Canadian veterinary college.
