TMR
Description:

A common method of delivering feed rations to ruminants. All feeds (forages and grain/supplements) are mixed together and fed free choice. Forages are fed as silage. TMRs optimize rumen pH, and are typical of free-stall, loose housing barns, and tie-stall barns. Photos below are of a TMR mixer (left) that allows the farmer to make a TMR, and an already made TMR (right) showing how they can vary depending on contents and feeding requirements.
