Pasture
Description:

The grass and other low plants covering land that is designated for animal grazing. Pasture is a source of non-protein nitrogen (NPN). The nutritive value of pasture is related to the maturity of the grazed plants. Pasture quality is dependent on location, types of plants present, and environmental condition, and therefore certain parts of the world (such as Ireland and New Zealand) have higher pasture usage rates. While pasture isn’t used for all livestock species, it can be a part of small ruminant, beef, and heifer diets.
