Panel: Artificial Intelligence for Decision Making in Research
Wednesday, July 10, 2024
July 10 | 8:30 - 10:15 AM | ECLA 1720
This panel is part of the 2024 OVC Graduate Research Symposium. This free event is open to the entire U of G community and to the public.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a powerful tool that can tackle big research questions, including human and animal health and wellbeing. For example, AI can help generate data to build better models, augmented reality can simulate infection transmission, and digital twins can make clinical trials more efficient. But with big advances in AI technologies, there are also important ethical considerations, such as data security, privacy, and safety. Join our panelists—including experts in AI, epidemiology, immuno-oncology, and public health—to learn more about the potential for AI in research and to discuss critical ethical considerations. Following the panel discussion, Kevin Matsui, the Managing Director of CARE-AI will speak about how AI might impact graduate student research.
