Access to Veterinary Care and Community Medicine

The strength of this program of research lies in its partnerships with organizations that help Indigenous communities and people experiencing homelessness, and with charitable and nongovernmental organizations engaged in animal shelters. Community and Indigenous organizations are seen as equal partners. This team includes diverse researchers in animal welfare, one welfare, shelter medicine and community care who use traditional scientific approaches, mixed methods and social inquiry.
