Wellness is at the core of veterinary medicine. It is not only integral to animal health, but critical to veterinary team health, too.
The Hill’s Pet Nutrition Primary Healthcare Centre at OVC is committed to developing a culture of wellness in the practice, which includes staff and student veterinarians who learn at the facility.
“Veterinarians recognize and promote the value of animal wellness plans but we’re not always so good when it comes to our own wellness,” explains Dr. Peter Conlon. Dr. Conlon and the Hill’s PHC team implemented a wellness program at the centre in the fall of 2017 and it continues to create a culture of wellness that students can carry with them into their professional practices after graduation.
