Tamaki completed her BSc in Veterinary Medicine at Obihiro University of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine. Later, she worked as a clinical vet for farm animals, mainly cattle, in Japan. She enjoyed working with farmers and their animals but also became interested in studying more about healthy animals and preventing them from getting sick. To pursue her interest, she studied MSc in Animal Sciences, specializing in nutrition and metabolism, at Wageningen University. Tamaki started her PhD in Epidemiology at the University of Guelph, Fall 2019. She hopes to combine her previous experiences with her study in Epidemiology and develop further understanding of livestock health. She will focus on antimicrobial use and resistance in calves under the supervision of Dr. David Renaud and Dr. David Kelton.
