Paige completed her undergraduate degree in Animal Biology at the University of Guelph. During her undergraduate degree she took a few epidemiology courses which introduced her to epidemiology, and inspired her to pursue a Master’s degree under the supervision of Dr. Michele Guerin, in the Population Medicine Department. Paige’s thesis focuses on associating husbandry and biosecurity practices to pathogen prevalence in small poultry flocks. This data will contribute to the development of educational material for small poultry flock owners to optimize disease detection, prevention and control.
In her spare time Paige raises and trains prospective service dogs for Autism Dog Services. She is currently training her third dog, a black Labrador retriever named Memphis.
