Research Interests

My research is focused on enhancing reproductive efficacy by looking at new semen catheter design, as well as analyzing breeding costs of producers in the Ontario swine industry. The project we are working on involves comparing sow fertility and farrowing data between groups bred at a single fixed time to conventional artificial insemination, at varying doses of semen used in the Gedis® and traditional catheters. The results of this research may contribute to a means of improving optimal sow fertility and reducing the labour and breeding costs for the producer.
