Kurtis is a MSc. student in the Department of Population Medicine at the OVC. He completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Life Sciences at Queen's University, with a focus in epidemiology. His undergraduate thesis project involved identifying geological risk factors for E. coli contamination of ground water sources in Ontario. Currently, he is studying the risk factors of Varroa destructor infestations in apiaries of Ontario, and developing a provincial surveillance system for beekeepers to monitor their risk for Varroa.
