Dylan Melmer

MSc, BSc.

I graduated from the University of Guelph in 2014 with a BSc Honors degree Major in Zoology. My interests are in comparative animal physiology, particularly in different physiological adaptations to disease. I am currently working with Dr. Zvonimir Poljak on a PRRS virus incidence project, specifically regrading viral evolution and phylogentics and how this corresponds to clinical impact on farm. Additonaly, I am interested in disease transmission patterns through animal movement. My previous research focused on using transportation data to track the movement of animals, and identify patterns of increased disease transmission potnential within the swine industry.
