Research Interests

Dr. Pearl’s research interests center on the use of quantitative methods to study the epidemiology of zoonotic and animal diseases and enhance disease surveillance. These quantitative methods include multi-level statistical modeling and a variety of statistical techniques designed for the analysis of spatial and molecular data. His projects have involved a variety of infectious and non-infectious diseases in several host species including humans, cattle, dogs, poultry, swine, and wildlife.

Teaching

Dr. Pearl has been involved in teaching both introductory and advanced epidemiological concepts in courses related to epidemiology, food safety, and molecular epidemiology.
