Research Interests

My research addresses micro-environmental cues that affect components of natural defense, namely the innate immune system and how it may influence the physiological conditions and development of diverse pathophysiological responses. I have focussed on dissecting the cellular and immunological events that modulate innate immune cell component functions under various physiologic and pathophysiologic conditions.

Topics of research projects include:

  • Immunobiology of innate immune components such as dendritic cells, Natural killer cells, and neutrophils
  • Mechanisms of innate immunity in Lung
  • Modulation of innate lymphoid cells by myeloid cells in cancer, infection and inflammation
  • Dendritic cell-based vaccine
