Profile

Dr. Matthew Kornya is an Internal Medicine Specialist and Emergency and Critical Care Resident at the Ontario Veterinary College (OVC). He graduated from the OVC in 2014 and entered into feline specialty practice, becoming the first ABCP Feline resident in Canada. During this time he also worked as an emergency veterinarian throughout Southern Ontario. 
In 2020 he returned to the OVC for a Small Animal Internal Medicine residency and DVSc, with his work focusing on hematology and feline coagulation medicine. After completion, he began an emergency and critical care residency. He also works as an internal medicine consultant throughout the Niagara region and GTA. 
Dr. Kornya is actively involved with the EveryCat Health Foundation, American Association of Feline Practitioners, and the National Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners. His areas of interest include hematology and coagulation medicine, feline medicine, and extracorporeal therapies. He is an Adjunct and Graduate  Faculty at the University of Guelph.
