Welcome Class of 2020!

Congratulations on your acceptance to the Ontario Veterinary College (OVC)!!!!!!!!

It is our pleasure to welcome you to the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program and to wish you much success over the next four years.

The information in the menu to the left will help you with your transition to life here at OVC. Should you have any questions regarding Orientation, please contact: Elizabeth Lowenger (lowenger@uoguelph.ca).

Orientation

Orientation begins Tuesday September 6, 2016 at 8:30am in the Lifetime Learning Centre at OVC. Please arrive 15-20 minutes early so that we can sign you in and give you some necessary information.

Important Information:

  • CLASS COLOUR AND MASCOT VOTING - .

On Tuesday September 6th (your first day of Orientation), the P2P1 Guides will be accepting ballots during lunch. You can choose to submit a class colour, a class animal or an animal colour combination for consideration. On Thursday September 10th, discussion and voting will take place.

Your choice must not be a colour or an animal used in the last four years. Below are the colours and animals that are not available: 2019 Golden Krakens, 2018 Ivory Owls, 2017 Violet Komodos, 2016 Cobalt Caracals.

  • Class of 2020 Practice Groups: Practice groups are formed based on previous experience so that you have a diverse group of individuals to work with and support each other's learning. This will become available later in the summer.
  • You should also visit the Current DVM Student site for additional information about your next four years here at OVC. Class schedules can be found on this site. These will also be updated as September approaches.
  • Teaching Horse Environmental Enrichment Program Participation Form - Please read, print and fill out this form before your Teaching Horse Environmental Enrichment Program orientation.
  • The Professional Welcome Ceremony will take place on Saturday September 17th from 10:30AM until noon. You may invite 3 guests, one of whom we hope will be a veterinary mentor.

We are very excited to welcome you into the OVC community and can't wait to meet you!

Sincerely,

Your Orientation Chair
