U of G student veterinarian wins Waterloo Region Rainbow Student Award

A second-year student veterinarian at the University of Guelph’s Ontario Veterinary College (OVC) has won the first Waterloo Region Rainbow Student Award.

Angelique Castelo was recognized for her work in her veterinary medicine studies and as president of the OVC Student Chapter of the Lesbian and Gay Veterinary Medical Association (SCLGVMA).

Castelo will be travelling to Tanzania this summer with Vets Without Borders.

The award Castelo received was created by SPECTRUM, Waterloo Region's Rainbow Community Space. It's to recognize youth who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to the community while balancing academic success.
