OVC researcher contributing to new COVID-19 tracker

Graph from COVID-19 in Canada tracker An Ontario Veterinary College (OVC) expert in infectious disease modelling is contributing to a new website that illustrates the spread of COVID-19 across Canada.

OVC professor Amy Greer is working with epidemiology colleagues from the University of Toronto’s school of public health. Together they have launched an online dashboard called Covid-19 in Canada.

The site includes the number of COVID-19 cases and deaths in Canada, the number of Canadians who have been tested and the number who have recovered.

As well, a graph illustrates how case numbers are increasing, along with a map illustrating where the cases have been found across Canada.

Greer’s team of graduate students are helping to gather data from across the country each day in order to update the dashboard every evening.

Holder of a Canada Research Chair in Population Disease Modelling, Greer is also working with the U of T team in a newly federally-funded research project to forecast the near-term course of the COVID-19 epidemic.
