There are lots of ways to stay informed about activities for non-Canadian students while studying at the Ontario Veterinary College (OVC). Although you will have a very busy schedule during your time in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program, it will be important for you to take breaks and take part in some of the diverse activities Guelph has to offer.
International Student's Listserv
One of the best ways to stay informed is to join the International Students Listserv. DVM students will have an opportunity to join the International Students' Listserv during an Orientation Week meeting with Benny Quay. If you wish to join the listserv sooner, you can contact Megan Sager
International Student Advisor - Office of Intercultural Affairs (OIA)
University Centre, Level 3
firstname.lastname@example.org or 519-824-4120 Ext. 53954
By joining the International Students' Listserv you will receive email updates of different activities taking place on and off campus for University of Guelph students. You will also receive details of upcoming workshops, such as the income tax workshops held each April at the University of Guelph.
OVC Non-Canadian Student's Listserv
You will automatically be signed up to the OVC Non-Canadian Students' Listserv when you accept your offer of admission to OVC. This will be the official form of communication between the Dean's Office and non-Canadian students regarding information affecting non-Canadian students.
While living in Guelph it's also a great idea to explore some of what Guelph has to offer and keep up-to-date on current Guelph events.
